Renaissance Church is a dynamic and multicultural non-denominational church in the heart of Harlem, with more than 700 regular attendees, and a mission to connect people to Jesus Christ and to each other. We believe the Gospel should be shared where people live—and today, that’s partly online.

The Role
We need a storyteller who understands the unique pulse of Harlem and the heart of our ministry. You will work with our Creative Director and communications team to be responsible for the social strategy, from capturing the high-energy atmosphere of our Sunday services to conceptualizing posts that help people grow in their faith, to providing follow-up resources and invitational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Vision: Develop and execute a weekly content calendar that aligns with our church mission and values.
- Content Creation: Capture, edit, and post high-quality photos and short-form videos (Reels/TikToks) that highlight church life, worship, and teaching.
- Community Management: Engage with our digital congregation by responding to comments and messages with a warm, pastoral tone.
- Growth: Use data-driven insights to expand our reach within the Harlem community and beyond.

- A Creative Storyteller: You have an eye for aesthetics and a thumb on the pulse of current social trends.
- Technically Proficient: Skilled in mobile photography/videography and editing tools
- Culturally Aware: You understand and appreciate the diverse, multi-generational, and urban context of Harlem.
- Mission-Driven: You are passionate about the local church and helping people navigate their faith journey in a modern world.
Compensation & Hours
This is a contract position with an annual pay of $10,000. We anticipate this role will require approximately 10–12 hours per week. This includes in-person Sunday morning presence for content capture, and remote hours for editing and scheduling.
